Image Faculty Title Associate Professor Degree Joshua Seaver specializes in 3D content creation, teaching 3D Modeling, 3D Animation, 3D Surfacing and Lighting, and Virtual Environments courses at MCAD. He studied fine art at Macalester College and entertainment technology at Carnegie Mellon University and has worked professionally across the entertainment, startup, and non-profit sectors. He developed for science museums in the early days of interactive media, co-founded a game development software for non-programmers, and worked at Pixar Animation Studios on their animation software Presto and as a shading artist on “Brave” and “Monsters University”. His research focuses on real-time 3D, XR, and empathetic electronic communication. He has been teaching interactivity and animation in some form for his entire 30-year career.
