MCAD Donates Homes to Whittier Neighborhood Alliance

EVENT
Two Stevens Avenue homes, located on the southwest corner of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) campus, have been donated to the Whittier Neighborhood Alliance to provide additional single-family housing in the Whittier neighborhood.

The move, which is partially funded by MCAD, is scheduled to take place in early November, weather permitting. The grounds will be landscaped and open for campus use. The Whittier Neighborhood Alliance will update the homes and ensure code compliance with new electric, plumbing, heating and AC. Full basements with egress windows, full bath, and room for bedrooms or a family room, will also be available. In addition, the first and second floor living spaces will be refreshed.

The homes are expected to be available for sale to an owner occupant later this year.

WHAT TO SEE
Two homes moving from the MCAD campus to new lots in the Whittier neighborhood.

WHEN
Weather permitting:
The houses at 2543 and 2541 Stevens Avenue will be moved the evenings of November 4 and 12, respectively.
