Vaccination Policy | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Vaccination Policy

Minnesota statute 135A.14 requires all college students to show proof of immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria. Students enrolling at MCAD for the first time must submit proof of immunization. This information is required to be submitted only at the time of the initial registration of a student; it does not have to be updated each year. However, students who do not provide proof of immunization may not enroll. For further information, or a Record of Immunization form, contact the Student Affairs Office.

Students enrolled in the online MA Sustainable Design and MA Graphic and Web Design programs are not required to show proof of immunization.

Infection Control

MCAD has a written Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure Control plan to protect faculty, staff, and students from exposure to these hazards. Student art works may not utilize human blood or body fluids or be suspect of incorporating them as they are assumed sources of contamination. Use of these materials is a violation of Universal Precautions for Infection Control. If there is a question about use of material, students should contact the Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator for guidance.Â
