HOTTEA Beats the Cold at Home Depot and Menards [Video]
Street artist Eric Rieger ’07, aka HOTTEA, is stringing together a name for himself both here and abroad. After butting heads with Minneapolis police over his graffiti in the past, Rieger now uses yarn to create non-destructive street art.
His method of transforming public spaces into riots of color and shape has made him an international ambassador of street art; he's traveled to Poland, London, and Berlin for commissioned work. He also achieved local fame when he created an installation at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts comprised of eighty-four miles of yarn.
Always one to push boundaries, HOTTEA took his art indoors at Home Depot and Menards during the recent polar vortex—watch the video to see what happens!
