Michael Kareken in Fruitful and Multiplying

Tip Floor, oil on canvas, by Michael Kareken

Faculty member Michael Kareken will exhibit his work in an upcoming group show at the Bloomington Art Center. Fruitful and Multiplying addresses the issue of overpopulation and its effects. The exhibition is curated by artist John Schuerman and also includes Mayumi Amada and Jim Proctor.

Update 4/18: The exhibition was reviewed yesterday in the Star Tribune.

"Executed in a realistic style and a richly hued palette, Kareken’s perspective puts us floundering in the sea of refuse that runs edge to edge like an abstract expressionist painting."
