Living on Campus
The Pre-College Summer Session is an immersive arts education. As such, all students are required to live in MCAD apartments during the program.
Time spent with your peers will create some of the most fun and educational experiences you will have here. On-campus living also prepares you for college, when you will be required to balance the excitement of independent living with the work that it takes to be a successful student.
You will share a furnished room with up to three roommates in one of MCAD’s on-campus, single-gender apartment buildings. Trained residential advisors live in the buildings and are available to assist you 24/7.
"The program is awesome. I loved getting to meet new people who share similar interests with me, bonding with my roommates, and getting a small taste of college life. I highly recommend that students go again a second year, considering how much fun the program is." —2013 Participant
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided each day by MCAD’s cafeteria. Special consideration is given to those with specific dietary needs.
All students are supervised at all times, including during off-campus group excursions. Excursions allow you to get a taste of the Twin Cities and all they have to offer, including museums and galleries, landmarks, and more.
Any other departures from campus require the authorization of a parent, even if you are of legal age (eighteen or older).
