International student orientation is your chance to learn anything that might be new to someone who isn't from the United States.

Topics covered during orientation may include learning how to talk to professors, detecting sarcasm, "Minnesota Nice," making friends, laws, and more. New students have a chance to meet with current international students to ask questions and learn about their experiences. Plus, orientation typically includes a trip to nearby shops for last-minute necessities, lunch at a popular establishment, and a tour of the local sights.

This orientation is mandatory for all newly admitted international students taking on-campus academic programs. It is required in addition to the orientation for all students in your program.

International and exchange students may move into on-campus housing August 23.
