Jessica Henderson ’11, MFA, is an artist and educator living in St. Paul. She splits her time between graphic design and making books and 2D objects. Her current work combines collections of found images and layers of hand-drawn and text elements to investigate digital culture and the influences of hyperconnectivity, information (over)load, and digital fragmentation on experiences of objectivity, personal identity, and introspection.
“The MFA program at MCAD equipped me with confidence in my work and the ability to discuss, defend, challenge, and improve it. Through the program’s emphasis on independent investigation and my one-on-one time with my mentor, I gained the confidence to forge my own studio practice, and the habits I developed have extended beyond graduation.”
