Following “the stoke”—the path that’s most energizing, uplifting and fulfilling—brought Moran to the intersection of his two passions: graphic design and a two-wheeled lifestyle.
After studying journalism at the University of Missouri, Moran worked for the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a journalist and designer for five years. Designing the front page, however, was fast paced, and Moran wanted to see what he could do if he had more time, a deeper background in design, and more tools in his toolbox, so he enrolled in MCAD’s post-baccalaureate graphic design program. He was drawn to the program's focus on design theory, which he calls "the foundation that informs any creative endeavor."
Moran is a life-long cyclist and elite-level racer, so joining a team of dedicated designers and cyclists was an easy decision when Trek came calling during his final semester at MCAD. As part of Trek’s robust in-house creative team, Moran creates ad campaigns, art directs, and designs physical environments and retail spaces.
