Student Housing and Dining

On-Campus Apartments
MCAD offers private, shared apartments—unlike crowded dorms—that offer a living room, closet space, bathroom, and eating area. Many come furnished. Our full kitchens allow you the freedom to eat what you want, when you want. It’s an ideal living situation. Living on campus puts you right in the center of our college community. You’ll have easy access to student events, and you can work on school projects at virtually all hours—with many of our facilities open 24/7.
Other notable features:
- Campus housing is very competitively priced compared to off-campus housing. (Off-campus housing is plentiful as well, but most first-year students opt to live on campus.)
- Low deposits and no commuting expense makes this a smart way to live.
- On-site Resident Assistants (RAs) provide support, advice, and referrals for particular needs.
What you can expect in your living space.
Our seven on-campus apartment buildings offer apartments in single, double, triple and quad occupancies. Unfurnished apartments have a bathroom and kitchen with a refrigerator and range. Furnished apartments also have single beds, dressers, tables, a couch, and a dinette set. Each building has self-locking entry doors, coin-operated laundry facilities, soft drink and snack machines, and locked mailboxes.
Dining Options
You can use our college cafeteria, the MCAD Bistro, as often as you like. There you’ll find fresh-cooked meals, along with beverages and snacks, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Items can be purchased with or without a meal plan.
If you like to cook, you can always visit nearby grocery stores and plan your own meals. Our convenient campus shuttles make regular trips.
Public Transportation
Minneapolis is known for its excellent public transportation, and students take advantage of it daily.
