Amazing Architects AM
Art and Design Classes for Kids and Teens
Builders, dreamers, and young artists will draw and then construct their own tree house, temple, or tower influenced by a merging of nomadic and contemporary culture. Our materials will include branches, twigs, scrap wood, wire, leather, cardboard, metal, twine, and paint.
Students will explore various methods of typing, twisting, and attaching elements and brainstorm solutions to create fanciful structure, volume, and height. They’ll also build a low relief sculpture based on the human qualities that buildings have and bring them to life through photographic bits, personal exaggeration, color, and detail.
Focus will be on engineering through problem solving, three-dimensional visioning, visual and physical balance, color relationships, drawing, and sculpture work. The week will culminate in a sharing of ideas and an exhibition of the students’ architectural inventions.
Students must be at least five years of age, and have attended kindergarten, prior to the first day of their class. View complete policies here.
