Introduction to Printmaking for Teens

Art and Design Classes for Kids and Teens

This class will introduce teens to the expansive world of printmaking.

Artists have been using printmaking processes to create beautiful works of art for centuries, but you don’t have to be a master printer to follow in their footsteps. MCAD’s professional printshop will be open for exploration this summer. Working one-on-one with our instructor, students will discover how printmaking can be molded to express their individual artistic visions. Students will be inspired and informed while learning intaglio, collagraph, and monoprint techniques. They will also have the opportunity to develop and execute their own projects.

Throughout the class, students will learn the valuable skill of how to critique another’s work and each student will be expected to participate in these informal critiques. Demonstrations will be given in all areas and students will receive daily supplemental handouts./ Facilities fee of $25 and materials fee of $25 off in addition to class tuition.

What to Bring: Pencil; sketchbook with your own drawings/doodles/ideas for prints you want to make.

Students must be eleven years, and not older than fourteen years of age, on the first day of class. View complete policies here.
