Drawing is a skill that anyone can learn! Developing the ability to draw from observation trains the eye and hand and opens a world of creative possibilities. This class is designed to offer a comprehensive introduction to the techniques, tools, and vocabulary associated with drawing as a medium. Students will learn the basic elements of drawing, such as line, value, texture, and shape, while also being conscious of the overall composition of the piece. Perspective and a multitude of visual measuring techniques will be explored as strategies for seeing and drawing. Students will also learn to use and manipulate a variety of drawing media. / Open to students ages 16 and above.

What to Bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook. Any drawing supplies you may have including drawing pencils (2H, 4B), Vine charcoal (medium), pad of newsprint (22 x 30" or equivalent), masking tape, pink eraser A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
