Summer Young Teens Classes Ages 12-15

Build on the Comic Book Creation I class with this follow-up class! Students will take what they learned and apply it by looking deeper into the diverse world of comics and exciting, alternative formats of storytelling. By working through speed sketching exercises and relevant assignments, students will learn how to produce comics at a faster pace, allowing them to create even more original characters and storylines to match their quick imaginations.

Throughout the class, the techniques, materials, and disciplines used to create professional comic art will guide instruction. Students will also focus on the following skills: Gesture drawing; page layout and composition; inking; advanced lettering; and sound effects. / Open to students ages 12-15. / View complete policies here.

Prerequisite: Comic Book Creation I. Previous drawing experience helpful, but not required.

What to bring: Drawing notebook; pens and pencils. Students should expect to spend approximately $50 on supplies (not included in tuition). A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.

What to wear: Dark clothing preferred.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
