Printmaking Intensive in Grand Marais: Seeing Possibilities (Spring 2014)

Adult Art and Design Classes

Would you like a dedicated time to create and think about your creative work, engage in stimulating discussions, and refresh your outlook on your own work processes?

This workshop is aimed primarily at painters and printmakers who want to explore new possibilities and directions for their work and have fun while doing so.

This 4-day intensive printmaking workshop at the Art Colony in beautiful Grand Marais will consist of demonstrations, class and individual discussions, and ample dedicated work time. Students will start out working in monotypes—a “painterly” printmaking process—before moving on to relief printmaking using linoleum blocks. Students will leave the class with a small body of work and with new insight into their own creative processes.

Inks, basic tools, papers, and two piece of 6x9" mounted linoleum will be provided, but students are welcomed to bring their own, additional supplies if they desire. / $430 tuition includes materials and facilities fees. / Open to students ages 18 and above. / Only 8 spots available.
