Introduction to Comic Art (Fall 2014)
Illustration and Comic Art
Get your ideas out of your head and onto the pages of your own multi-page comic book! Students in this class will create original characters and storylines and be introduced to the techniques, materials, and disciplines used to create professional comic art.
Students will learn the following skills: Page layout; penciling; lettering; and inking. Students will also look at great examples of work throughout the history of comics for inspiration and to kick-start the creative process. Demonstrations and critiques will supplement studio work. / Open to students ages 18 and above.
Prerequisite: Previous drawing experience.
What to Bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook. / A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.
