Photography and Filmmaking
Do you have a fascinating story to tell or know a friend or family member with an interesting history to share? This class will provide you with a chance to preserve that story through the medium of documentary film.
Using interviews, narration, photographs, and other visual material, students will learn techniques related to documentary film production, including the basics of pre-production; interviewing techniques; voiceover narration; camera operation; lighting; sound; and editing; resulting in a unique one-of-a-kind documentary.
Students will also discuss structure, technique, and methodology found in past and contemporary documentary film. / Facilities fee of $25 in addition to class tuition. / Open to students ages 16 and above.
Prerequisite: Working knowledge of Mac OS X.
What to Bring: USB drive, blank CD, or cloud storage option for saving work. / A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.
