Crazy Cats: PM Section (Summer 2013)

Summer Studio Kids Ages 5-8

Crazy about cats? Join the club! We'll be making paintings and sculptures dedicated to nothing but cats this week.

We'll look at works by artists inspired by these frisky felines–from ancient Egyptian painting and sculpture to artworks by Andy Warhol, and take a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts on a cat-finding mission. Young cat enthusiasts will learn how to paint and sculpt their own cat-inspired masterpieces by learning about working from observation and anatomy. Family, friends, and cat-lovers alike please join us on Friday for a cat-tastic art celebration!

For students to get the most from these classes, it's important for them to have experience using scissors, possess tactile skills, and to also have experience in a group setting. Students in this program must be at least five years of age, and have attended kindergarten, prior to the first day of their session.

Morning before-care (8:00-9:00 a.m.) and afternoon after-care (3:00-5:30 p.m.) arranged through the Children's Theatre Company is available to students enrolled in a Studio Kids class. To register, visit the CTC website and click on the "Extended Care Option" tab. Please register in advance of the start of your child's class.

Note: An MCAD Teaching Assistant will escort your child to and from the CTC in between classes and before/after care. Questions about payment, registration, and cancelation can be directed to the CTC.
