Mask-Making: AM Section (Summer 2013)

Summer Studio Kids Ages 5-8

Inspired by animals, spirits, legends, and myth, this week will be all about the art of mask-making.

We'll take a field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts to learn about the techniques and traditions of mask-making from around the world, and then return to the studio to let our own creativity take over. Using a variety of materials with a focus on color and texture, students will create masks that are sure to amaze! Families and friends please join us for an art reception on Friday to celebrate these young artists and see if you can tell who is who!

Students in this program must be at least five years of age, and have attended kindergarten, prior to the first day of their session.

Morning before-care (8:00-9:00 a.m.) and afternoon after-care (3:00-5:30 p.m.) arranged through the Children's Theatre Company is available to students enrolled in a Studio Kids class. To register, visit the CTC website and click on the "Extended Care Option" tab. Please register in advance of the start of your child's class.

Note: An MCAD Teaching Assistant will escort your child to and from the CTC in between classes and before/after care. Questions about payment, registration, and cancelation can be directed to the CTC.
