Introduction to Printmaking for Teens

Summer Young Teens Classes Ages 11-14

This class will introduce teens to the expansive world of printmaking.

Artists have been using printmaking processes to create beautiful works of art for centuries, but you don't have to be a master printer to follow in their footsteps. MCAD's professional printshop will be open for exploration this summer.

Working one-on-one with our instructor, students will discover how printmaking can be molded to express their individual artistic visions. Students will be inspired and informed while learning intaglio, collagraph, and monoprint techniques.

They will also have the opportunity to develop and execute their own projects. Throughout the class, students will learn the valuable skill of how to critique one another's work and each student will be expected to participate in these informal critiques. Demonstrations will be given in all areas and students will receive daily supplemental hand-outs. / Facilities fee of $25 and materials fee of $25 in addition to class tuition.

What to Bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook.
