Visiting Artist Erin Shirreff

Erin Shirreff received a BFA in 1998 from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, and an MFA in sculpture from Yale School of Art in 2005. Still, Flat, and Far, a solo exhibition of her video, photographs, and sculpture, was held at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, in 2010. Her work was included in recent exhibitions at the Power Plant in Toronto, the Aspen Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, P.S.1, Sculpture Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ballroom Marfa, White Flag Projects, the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver. She was artist-in-residence at the Chinati Foundation in 2011 and is the recipient of a 2011 Canada Council grant. Shirreff's work has been reviewed in Artforum, The New Yorker, Frieze, the New York Times, and Modern Painters and is included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She was appointed lecturer at Yale University School of Art in sculpture in 2011.
