Visiting-Artist Lecture: Kimberly Winkle
Oklahoma native Kimberly Winkle is a maker of furniture and objects from wood. She creates works that combine furniture and sculptural elements with richly embellished surfaces. Her work has been exhibited widely and has been included in Fine Woodworking, Woodwork Magazine, and 500 Tables and 500 Chairs.
Winkle received her BFA in ceramics from the University of Oklahoma and her MFA in furniture design from San Diego State University. Winkle has been a resident artist at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, Tennessee, and an International Turning Exchange resident fellow through the Center for Art in Wood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
