Alexandra Alisauskas is a PhD candidate in the program in visual and cultural studies at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. She is currently completing her dissertation, which examines the work of artist collectives working in Poland in the 1980s in relation to theories of artistic collaboration, affective processes of collectivization, and
(post-)Soviet identity. Her work on post-war European and Eastern European art has been published by InVisible Culture, caa.reviews, Studies in Art and Architecture, and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. Her next project expands both the historical and regional borders of her current research by investigating long-distance and face-to-face collaborations between postwar Eastern and Western European artists.
