Daniel Dean often instigates collaborative projects that address site-specificity, spatial relationships, and our engagement with media and technology.

He produces video, interactive sculpture, and site-responsive public art projects that challenge expectations while reimagining value and exchange systems, personal experience, participation, and our relationship to objects. He has exhibited and performed his work nationally and internationally at the Weisman Museum; the Soap Factory; Northern Spark Festival; the Bakken Museum; the Katzen Arts Center, DC; the World Bank, DC; Nathan Cummings Foundation, NYC; Institut for Alles Mogliche, Berlin; NGBK, Berlin, ZKM Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe Germany; and the Beijing Film Academy.

Dean currently teaches both liberal arts and studio classes at MCAD and Macalester College in subjects related to experimental physical media and Internet technologies.
