Daniel Halsey is a certified permaculture and professional agro-ecosystems designer. He is a teaching specialist in polyculture design at the the University of Minnesota. He is hired nationally and internationally to design private homesteads, intentional communities, and broad-acre transition. Halsey teaches in Haiti, Lebanon (USAID), Costa Rica, Canada, Europe, and across the United States.

Since 2011 Halsey and business partner Paula Westmoreland (Founder in 2003) have managed the Natural Capital Plant Database, an ecological design plant selection service with over 3,000 users in 70 countries. Halsey is a board member of United Designers. In 2016 the nonprofit United Designers began using the Halsey design process and resources for ecological designers across the globe.
