Dr. Olson is an art historian with a focus on the art and religions of South Asia. She primarily teaches foundation art history and courses focusing on Asian art, religion, and culture.

Olson's educational background includes degrees in religious studies and art history. Her current research focuses on Indo-Portuguese ivory statuettes created in Goa, India, in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
