Tom DeBiaso

Tom DeBiaso established the media arts department and the master of fine arts degree program at MCAD, where he also served as dean of studio programs. He was a visiting professor at the Bauhaus Universität in Weimar, Germany, and he has made visiting artist presentations at venues such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, Harvard University, the University of Southern California, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, SIGGRAPH, and the Walker Art Center.
DeBiaso's creative work includes more than fifty solo and group exhibitions. He founded Film in the Cities, and he served on the Minnesota Governor's Commission on the Arts, the Minneapolis City Arts Commission, and the Minnesota Arts in Education Board. His film and interactive clients include Starkey Electronics, the Guthrie Lab, Job Corps, and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. He is also a board member of the Independent Feature Project North and an academic program evaluator for the Higher Learning Commission and the National Schools of Art and Design.
