Tom Garrett has been teaching since 1986, and his work has been recognized in Communication Arts, Print, the New York Art Director’s Club, and American Illustration. His illustrations have been published in U.S. News & World Report, Business Week, National Journal, the Washington Post, Fortune, TV Guide, the Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, Good Housekeeping, and National Geographic Traveler.
Garrett’s clients include Mattel, Geico, Warner Brothers, HBO, American Airlines, Pillsbury, Stanford University, and IBM. He is a contributor to Educating the Illustrator and Teaching Illustration, published by Allworth Press, and he is also a contributor to How to Grow as an Illustrator, Exploring Illustration, and Drawing Inspiration: Visual Artists at Work by Michael Fleishman. Garrett is on the Advisory Board of the Creative Quarterly and has been a member of the Society of Los Angeles since 1996.
