Studying Abroad in Brighton: Final Goodbyes

In this blog series, BFA student Kassi Ferry shares an authentic look at her study abroad experience in Brighton, England, during the Spring 2017 semester.

As final hand-in approached and passed it was time to start packing and say final goodbyes. I was both excited and heartbroken to be going home so soon. It felt like just yesterday I had arrived by train to Brighton Station and now I was preparing to leave. I have met so many amazing and talented people. I have made so many friends and memories. I could not have been happier with the experiences that I’ve had.

After final hand-in, the entire second year went to Kings and Queens Pub to celebrate. This was the beginning of goodbye, but hopefully not forever.

I spent my last day with friends: eating food, roaming around Brighton, watching Disney movies, and lots of laughter. Packing everything up, I ended up filling three suitcases! I was very excited and also sad that I was headed home the next day, but I cannot wait to see what lies ahead in my future.

Here’s to all the friends and memories:

Matt, Sophie, Jade, and Alice bonding while having a laugh about Sophie’s sandwich being stolen by the seagull at the beach.

My mate Oscar who has always had some sort of adventure up his sleeve.

My gal pals Alina, Rozzi and Anna, who I could always count on for girls night.

Mona, Amber and Wingky who knew how to make me laugh.

Eve and Priya who kept things interesting during our collaboration project.

The coursemates who were always ready to lend a helping hand.

And last but not least Thad and Skyler. We’ve gone to the same school for a year but didn’t know each other until we got accepted into the Brighton Program.
