Beyond the Event Horizon by Christopher Bales

MCAD alumi Nathan Anderson and Christopher Bales will be featured in the First Friday June exhibition at La Luz De Jesus Gallery.

Anderson's pop culture parody portraits play on the idea of a popular character and how it would be seen in the the real world, for example, Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas with a human skeleton, Batman with a bat, and Dory from Finding Nemo with a blue tang fish.

Bales's assemblage work is sourced from “an enormous amount of objects—like broken wooden boxes, dolls, clocks, picture frames, figurines—from his weekly visits to flea markets and thrift stores."
