The Waabizipinikaan-Ziibi Filmmaking Residency (WZFR) (co-founded by faculty member Ben Moren) will hold their annual public screening this weekend.

WZFR is a rural, low res program for filmmakers from across disciplines that encourages sharing, collaboration, and the use of local resources for the creation of short experimental films. The residency is open to emerging, mid-career, and established artists and, though open to any region, primarily draws talent from the Midwest. WZ's unique setting offers residents the opportunity to set films in rural and semi rural locations that include high bridges, rivers, abandoned shacks, fields, forests, the cabin itself, rustic small towns, sculpture parks, waterfalls, and trout streams.

Faculty member Kate Casanova is one of the 2017 residents that will be showing. All films will be projected over Silver Lake from the island on a custom built screen.
