America's Monsters, Superheroes, and Villains

It's hard to believe that it's been a couple years since faculty member Stephen Rueff's monstrous exhibition began. The exhibition, which broke attendance and contribution records for the Goldstein Museum of Design, inspired other related projects. Now, the smash hit America's Monsters, Superheroes, and Villains has moved to another Minnesota location.

Last night, the exhibition opened at the Depot in Duluth. The show features tons of recognizable figures, including (but not limited to) Captain America, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, and Star Wars characters and showcases how they have evolved over time. A big portion of the collection belongs to Rueff's friend and collector David Barnhill.

"We started with some mini-exhibits. Through that we realized we had our own story to tell–the one of monsters, superheroes, and villains." —Rueff
