Work by Jim Keefe (Adjunct Faculty, Design) will be featured on the cover of the February 2013 issue of Comics Revue, a comic strip anthology magazine.

Natasha Pestich (Adjunct Faculty, Fine Arts) has work featured in "Art Formerly Known As Prints," the winter cooperative exhibition at Highpoint Center for Printmaking. The exhibition opened on December 7, 2012 and runs through January 26, 2013.

Andy Sturdevant writes a weekly column titled The Stroll for MinnPost. In November, he wrote about “MCAD’s Art Cellar and the Ephemeral Art of Handmade Signage.”

Tom Garrett created an illustration based on the story Sherlock Homes and the Case of the Speckled Band for the October issue of Scholastic Scope Magazine.

Quodlibetica's Constellation 22 again featured a lineup of MCAD staff, faculty, and alumni. Faculty and founder Lightsey Darst, staff member Jenna Westrick, and alum Katelyn Farstad were among the contributors.

A story on the MCAD Art Sale was featured on BoingBoing, one of the world’s most read blogs. BoingBoing receives more monthly page views than the websites of all regional newspapers and most national newspapers. The article also links to the Star Tribune story about the entrepreneurial success of MCAD artists.

Tom Garrett is part of a group exhibition at the Katherine E. Nash gallery at the Regis Center for Art. Minnesota Funk. a group exhibition that playfully explores the diverse side of Minnesota culture kicks off the 10th anniversary year. The public reception was on December 6 at the Regis Center.

Gregory Euclide '08 designed the album art for the Minnesota Beatle Project Vol. 4.

Matthew Plumstead ‘08 was interviewed in Dwell, a magazine on modern design and architecture. The interview focused on his Integrated Workstation project, which won a Red Dot award for best design concept.

Patrick Redmond ’72 and Nancy Rice (Faculty, Advertising) attended the “Mad Men & Women of Minneapolis” event held by the Advertising Federation of Minnesota.

Patrick Redmond ‘72 received a Merit Award from the Advertising Federation of Minnesota, a member of the American Advertising Federation, in AdFed’s The Show 2012 competition on November 9.

Current MFA Student Kate Thomas will showcase her work on Nicollet and 26th street from December 1 - February 15 as part of the Artists in Storefronts project.

Tom Garrett created illustrations about the executive chef of the White House and the Obama family for the December 2012 issue of Food Network Magazine. Garret’s seven illustrations are based on the process of creating the holiday gingerbread house.

A new digital magazine called MPLSzine has been coordinated and produced by MPLS Collective. Several MCAD alumni and students have been involved in the production and have submitted content to the zine, including Julian Howley, faculty member Robert Algeo, and Clarissa Hamilton, who is the layout Director for the zine.

A number of MCAD faculty and alumni are included in a brand new holiday pop-up shop called SOOlocal, a division of SooVac gallery.

Matthew K. Berg was recently hired by MN Film and TV as their new Production Services Manager. Most recently, Berg worked as assistant to producer Christine Walker on the indie feature, Stay Then Go, which was shot on location in Minneapolis in September.

Escaping Logik was a solo exhibition presented at Fine Art in Space by Brooklyn-based artist Anthony Pugh ’02. Pugh presented acrylic painted works, as well as over 100 watercolor pieces. In conjunction with his new work, he is releasing a limited edition sketchbook entitled Escaping Logik.
