Two recent Fine Arts alumni, Caitlin Warner and David Frolich, are this year's recipients of the Jerome Emerging Printmaker's Residency 2012-2013.

Natasha Pestich, fine arts professor, has an exhibition at Schaefer Gallery titled Fulfillment is Such a White-Collar Thing. The show will run from Tuesday, October 2 to Friday, November 2, with an opening reception and artist's talk on Thursday, October 4, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Gregory Euclide '08, MFA, completed an illustration for O Magazine on the rewards of eco travel.

Visiting faculty Allen Brewer and Illustration alum Bill Rebholz '12 were asked by Periscope to collaborate on a mural project celebrating Great Clips' thirtieth anniversary. The collaboration of 5 artists/illustrators was lead by local muralist extraordinaire Ta-coumba Aiken at the Minneapolis Convention Center. From September 29 - Oct 1 the artists received live tweets from 3,500 guests, all finishing the phrase "Great is _________." The artists then interpreted all 3,500 tweets on a 30'x30' canvas to be sectioned off into individual pieces for the guests. In total, Brewer and Rebholz created roughly 600 works!

This summer Kelsey King created an illustration for the cover of a novel by author Margaret Taylor, entitled "Ravensdaughter's Tale."

"Salvage," a solo exhibition by Michael Kareken (Adjunct Faculty, Fine Arts) opens on September 7 at Groveland Gallery. This body of work includes drawings and paintings inspired by visits to an auto salvage yard where customers pull their own parts. 

On Friday September 7 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Franklin Art Works will host a reception for a solo exhibition by Jonathan Bruce Williams '08. Williams' large-scale, film-based sculptural installation, entitled "S I G H T H O U S E," is his first solo exhibition. The show will remain on view at Franklin through Saturday, October 27.

Patrick Redmond '70 led an initiative to provide a list of past presidents and chairmen of AIGA Minnesota on the organization's website. With some 1,300 members, AIGA Minnesota has become one of the largest chapters of AIGA, "the professional association for design."

Kelly Ludeking '97 has an upcoming opening at the RAW: Minneapolis exhibition titled Ensemble. The event will be held on September 6th at 8:00 pm at the Fine Line Music Cafe. RAW events are multi-faceted artistic showcases of local, hand-picked talent.

Jessica Ibarra '06 was selected to speak at a TEDx event in Seoul, South Korea with the theme Nature+. She was one of two people selected from a pool of eighty essays to speak at the conference. Ibarra presented to a live audience of over 1,000 people and was streamed live over the web. Her topic was "ecofeminism: making connections between environmentalism and feminism."
