Zak Sally - "Sammy the Mouse: Volume 1"

Adjunct faculty Zak Sally just released Sammy the Mouse: Volume 1, from La Mano books. The 104 page collection of the first 3 issues of Zak Sally's Sammy the Mouse comic was printed by Sally on his own offset press.

Jim Keefe

Visiting artist Jim Keefe was featured on MPR News's blog in a spotlight on MCAD. Keefe’s work on the Flash Gordon newspaper strip is part of a traveling exhibition, titled One Fine Sunday in the Funny Pages. The exhibition is curated by Stay Tooned publisher John Read.

Tyler Stephanich

Tyler Stefanich ’09 has been awarded a two month residency at Blast Theory. Blast Theory provides studio spaces for artists, scientists, and theorists with the goal of creating an interdisciplinary community of international significance. The residency program is initiated and run by artists. It aims to provide a space for residents to research and develop new work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Anton Pearson

Anton Pearson’s work was featured on Grain Edit, a website focused on classic design work from the 1950s–1970s and contemporary designers that draw inspiration from that time period.

MCAD Logorama MN Pivot 2012

Graphic design students and MCAD AIGA student chapter leaders Amy Grace and Brian Mueller, as well as faculty advisor Jan Jancourt, hosted the MN PIVOT event at MCAD on January 19 at the student center. The guest speaker is internationally renowned MCAD alum Charles S. Anderson.

The Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Science has invited Jerry Allan to present “The Five Great Ideas and Challenges the World Needs to Address” at their 2011 annual conference.

Kevin Byrne

The students of Kevin Byrne’s Client Studio course presented their exhibition plan to project client Three Rivers Parks on the subject of past, present, and sustainable future for the stream health of Elm Creek Watershed in Dayton, Minnesota. 

2012 Adfed Student Summit

The students of David Schutten’s Copywriting and Broadcast course are going on a field trip to attend the 2012 Student Ad Summit where they will have the opportunity to show their work among some of the advertising community leaders.
