Minneapolis, MN—September, 12—The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) is pleased to be the location partner for the 9th annual myTalk 107.1 Project Down and Dirty.
Project Down and Dirty is myTalk 107.1’s award-winning radio reality show that has raised over $548,000 for Twin Cities charities over the last eight years. After learning from MCAD faculty, the hosts will create pieces of art that they will sell to support four great causes: the MCAD scholarship program, the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA), Upstream Arts, and Art Buddies.

The Minneapolis College of Art and Design Scholarship Program is committed to making MCAD’s world-class art and design education accessible to the next generation of cultural leaders, regardless of income. More than $11 million in scholarships is awarded to students each year, and 26% of incoming students in 2019 are first-generation college students who will go on to transform the world through creativity and purpose. Over 97% of Minneapolis College of Art and Design students receive financial support, and scholarships ensure that the world-class education offered at MCAD is accessible to a diverse cohort of ambitious, talented students.

The Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) helps artists of all backgrounds thrive. NEMAA opens doors by providing community, promotion, and professional development opportunities for artists, as well as presenting Art-A-Whirl, the largest open studio tour in the country.

Upstream Arts uses the power of the creative arts to activate and amplify the voice and choice of individuals with disabilities.

Art Buddies connects Twin Cities students from high-needs schools with an adult volunteer to encourage creativity and build self-esteem. Creative mentors helping kids build dreams. Every kid can be creative, and every kind adult can mentor.
