Professional Artist

In a couple sentences, describe what you do for work and how you feel about it.

I'm a professional artist specializing in fine art paintings and murals. I also play music.

Tell us about your internship.

I worked for Tom Richmond of Mad Magazine fame drawing caricatures and learning to use an airbrush. I worked this job for three summers.

Best thing you ever got/saw on the free shelf?

A brand new skateboard deck.

What inspires you/your work?

I like Jim Dine's work a lot. Graffiti and street art obviously. Music and skateboarding are huge influencers and punk rock blah blah blah etc.

Has your work evolved since leaving MCAD? How so?

I'm painting different things now. Murals. Giant skaters. I'm working with oils less and less, but would like to get back into those too. I'm also working on making my own album, and I have plans to write a comic book, and pitch a cartoon show in the future, but who knows what will happen?

What advice do you have for current MCAD students?

Get some sleep.

How do you network yourself and your art?

I try to talk to everyone.

Current obsession?

Guitar.
