Better Business through Sustainability: Strategies for Positive Impacts (Online)

Bring your small business or organization up to speed, sustainably speaking. This course will help students develop confidence in making decisions and setting goals around sustainability for businesses or organizations. Participants will learn to think in life-cycles of a product or business; better understand the community and customer’s needs through empathy; compare certifications and claims to avoid greenwashing practices; and better communicate their efforts around sustainability as a business. / Open to students ages 18 and above. This online course will be synchronous, meaning students will meet together online. Class meetings will be conducted via Google Meet and include lectures, discussions, exercises, and time to ask questions. Office hours will be scheduled for one-on-one meetings and consultations.

Required hardware: A computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, a camera, and microphone for class meetings and to capture and upload work.

Required supplies for the first class: Pen or pencil; notebook or similar for taking notes.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
