Bookmaking Workshop: Japanese Side Stitch Binding(Online)
Instructor:
Price:
$35.00

Japanese side stitch binding (also called stab binding) is a non-adhesive binding technique that includes many variations. Because the stitching is done on the outside of the book, the beauty of your work shows! This class will go over a brief history of Japanese side stitch, take a look at how artists have used this form in their work, and go through the steps to make one blank book together using this binding technique. / Open to students ages 16 and above. View complete policies.

This online course will be synchronous, meaning students will meet together online. The class meeting will be conducted via Google Meet and include lecture, demonstrations, work time, and time to ask questions and get feedback on work.

Required hardware: A computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, a camera, and microphone for class meetings and to capture and upload work.
