The Comic Book Inside and Out

Have you thought about making your own comic, but weren't sure how to begin? In this class, students will examine the skills and concepts necessary to become successful comic artists. Students will look at how comics have changed over the years and discover how truly diverse comic genres can be. Whether superheroes or real-life stories, students will be introduced to the tools and foundations of storytelling that will help them develop their own personal mini-comic to share with your classmates. / Basic drawing skills are strongly recommended. / There will be no class on 7/2 and 7/4. / Open to students ages 15–18. / View complete policies here.

Prerequisites: Previous drawing experience is strongly recommended.

What to bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook. A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
