Comic Book: Inside and Out

In this class, students will examine the skills and concepts necessary to become successful comic artists. Students will look at how comics have changed over the years and discover how truly diverse comic genres can be. Whether superheroes or real-life stories, students will be introduced to the tools and foundations of storytelling that will help them develop their own personal mini-comic to share with their classmates. / Basic drawing skills are strongly recommended. / Open to students ages 15–18. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete policies here.

Prerequisite: Previous drawing experience is strongly recommended.

What to bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook. A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.

Class Savings: Register for more than one class at a time and receive $25 off each additional class (same-day registrations only).
