Creative Drawing (Online)

Using charcoal, graphite, and ink, students in this class focus on the expressive side of drawing through collaborative projects and abstract drawing exercises as they learn scale, value, mark making, shape, and the role of composition in the perception of a piece of art. The instructor addresses how drawing can be used to tell stories through discussions, demonstrations, and assignments. Students view and discuss work by artists who have used drawing as a means to express emotions and ideas. Throughout the class, students consider questions such as: How does an artist convey happiness, strength, resolve, preciousness, or sadness through the act of drawing? Students learn how to use the skills they already have to express themselves creatively through the media of drawing. / Open to students ages 12–15. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete registration policies. Please read complete summer camp information and policies before completing your registration.
