Design Innovations: Process

What if it were possible to guarantee positive outcomes on every design project you worked on? What would it mean if you could walk into every meeting knowing that no matter what the project was you have a way of delivering without fear of creative block or needing to rely on the tried and true? That’s what you’ll learn how to do in this class.

The design process is widely understood to be important these days, but outside of white boarding and sticky notes what does that look like for the working visual designer? In this class process becomes plural. Students will learn multiple processes: step-by-step methodologies for dealing with a variety of everyday problems from needing to design an iconic image, to entering into a project with no information and no time, to developing a concept when you can’t find that insight that usually leads to one.

Each week a new graphic design process will be introduced through exercises and case-studies with a homework assignment so you can put the introduced process into action for yourself.

Each process is a replicable methodology based on real world practice. By the end of this class, you’ll be able to face the most commonly frustrating design problems with a new level of confidence. / Open to students ages 18 and above. / View complete policies.
