Bring ideas to life while learning new drawing techniques and skills. Dive deeply into the world of drawing, exploring the work of artists from classical to contemporary, with a field trip to the nearby Minneapolis Institute of Art. Students will learn and practice the essentials of drawing; line, shape, value, proportion, and composition to make exciting drawing projects large and small. The class will explore and experiment with a variety of different materials, such as markers, India ink, charcoal, watercolors, colored pencil, along with non-traditional drawing material. On Friday afternoon, we will share our drawing spectacular with family and friends in a celebratory exhibition! / Open to students ages 9-12. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete policies.

Need extended care for your child during the day? The Children's Theatre Company next door offers morning and afternoon care for MCAD camp participants.

What to bring: Please bring a packed lunch each day.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.

Class Savings: Register for more than one class at a time and receive $25 off each additional class (same-day registrations only).
