Enjoy this weeklong camp focused on fiber arts and discover new ways to incorporate yarn, textiles and fabric into a variety of artworks. Students will learn various techniques, such as weaving, sewing and fabric dyeing to create soft pillowy sculptures, woven hangings and wearable bandanas and scarves. Students will take a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to look at ancient and modern tapestries and explore different textile practices from around the world. Throughout the week students will take inspiration from fabric artists, such as influential fiber artist Lenore Tawney. Families and friends will be invited to an art show on Friday to view the handiwork of all the young artists and see how fiber is transformed into fabulous works of art! / Open to students ages 6-9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete policies.

Need extended care for your child during the day? The Children's Theatre Company next door offers morning and afternoon care for MCAD camp participants.

What to bring: Please bring a packed lunch each day.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.

Class Savings: Register for more than one class at a time and receive $25 off each additional class (same-day registrations only).
