Introduction to Observational Drawing (Online)

In this class students learn to "draw what they see," as they begin to transfer their observations to a two-dimensional picture plane. The instructor will demonstrate how to apply the art elements of line and shape to this process, and will explain how and why it works. Other elements of art such as value (light/darkness) and texture will be added to students’ repertoires, as their skills expand. This course may use a website for figure drawing assignments that will allow access to professional nude models. While the instructor is requesting students to use clothed models, due to the online format students will have access to nude models. / Open to students ages 15–18. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete policies.
