Joy and Magic of Color (Online)

Students will explore color through painting and other complementary media, inspired by the wonder of nature's myriad color and patterns. Throughout the week, skills related to painting, drawing, color-mixing and color-blending will be taught, with an emphasis on the joy and discovery of hands-on experimentation.

For inspiration, we'll look to artists who use color to power their work such as contemporary Native painter and environmentalist Christi Belcourt, whose meticulous work explores and celebrates the beauty of the natural world; 20th century Canadian painter Emily Carr, and the Fauves ("Wild Beasts"!), a group of early 20th-century French modern artists whose works emphasized painterly qualities and strong color over realism. / Open to students ages 6–12. Younger students may need assistance from an adult. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete registration policies. Please read complete summer camp information and policies before completing your registration.
