Nature can provide amazing inspiration for artwork! In this mixed-media class students will learn how to look to the natural world as they draw, paint, sculpt, and more. Time will be spent outside looking at nature, searching for materials for art making projects and using plants and insects as subjects for drawings, paintings, collages, and masks. Students will create sketchbooks, visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art for a nature in art scavenger hunt and look at contemporary artists who explore the natural wonders of the world in their art. Family and friends will be invited to a mini exhibition on Friday with all the students’ work on display to view and celebrate! / Open to students ages 6-9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete policies.

Need extended care for your child during the day? The Children's Theatre Company next door offers morning and afternoon care for MCAD camp participants.

What to bring: Please bring a packed lunch each day.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.

Class Savings: Register for more than one class at a time and receive $25 off each additional class (same-day registrations only).
