Discover the wonders of the natural world. Create connections between the five senses, the environment, and hands on art making. Students in this class get creative with inspiration from nature. Students learn how to incorporate natural materials into drawing, painting, and sculpture. Students use leaves, twigs, and grasses for textural elements in their art. Together they discover the ways in which nature is embedded into the artistic process, materials, and their lives. Class time is spent on discussions, demonstrations, outdoor activities, experimentation, and art-making. / Open to students ages 9–12.
