This class is designed to be an opportunity for students to explore their own individual creative goals with the support of an experienced instructor while working in MCAD’s expansive light-filled painting studio. Receive feedback on skills, techniques and concept development as you develop a body of work such as abstract, landscape, still-life, or figure painting, and/or resolve unfinished work. Your colleagues will be working on their own projects but will touch base regularly for peer critiques to gain helpful feedback. While students may work in either oil or acrylic, please note that the instructor's technical expertise is in oil paint. / No models will be provided. / Materials fee of $5 in addition to class tuition. / Open to students ages 18 and above. / View complete policies.

Prerequisites: Previous drawing or painting experience. This is not a beginning class, so students should have command of the basics of painting prior to taking this class.

What to Bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook. Be prepared to paint on the first day with your own supplies.

What to Wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
